Cigar Rolling Workshop

Cohiba Cigars, the flagship brand of Habanos S.A, the leading Cigar exporter in Cuba, organized a cigar rolling workshop recently. It was well received and attended by a diverse group of people. Right from novice smokers to serious aficionados, people of all ages and groups were seen. The turnout was exceptional. Cigar rollers from Cohiba Cigars lectured on how to roll a good cigar and also talked on the qualities to look out for while buying a cigar.

With the diverse range of cigars available, correct selection becomes instrumental. On the basis of your preference, you can opt for cigars being light and chocolaty to those being dark and strong. Colors vary too. The importance of final colors in giving the character and flavor to the cigar was also talked about. Colorado Maduro, the dark brown variant and Oscuro, the very black variant, also called Double Maduro is extremely popular in Cuba.

There were counselors present who talked to people about their preferences and suggested the cigars that would be most suitable to them. One was allowed to smoke the suggested cigar complementary. Following this, a majority of the people ended up buying the suggested cigars. Towards the end of the day, a competition was organized in cigar rolling. The top three cigars were judged by the cigar rollers of Cohiba Cigars. They were awarded with a 25 piece box of cigars each.

All in all, the participants in the workshop had a good time and went home feeling contended. They thought the Cohiba Cigar workshop was a full value for money and looked forward to such events in future. A detailed information booklet was also handed out to make the cigar aficionados .more informed.

Are my cigars still over-humidified?
I stuck a new box of Cohiba Maduro No5 and Robustos in a new humidor and I think I over-seasoned my humidor causing my cigars to be too wet and I could hardly draw when I lit up a Maduro No5. Now, I've had them out of the humidor, sitting in their original box for about a week or so... How do I tell if they are good to smoke? The cigars certainly don't feel wet or anything, but I think they MIGHT be a little too spongy when I squeeze them... I just don't want to light one up and waste it by finding out it still aint drawing... PS the humidity in the humidor seems to jump up quite high when I add water to the humidifier, when empty... Is that normal? Is it OK if I put the cigars in at 80% RH, will the RH drop with the cigars in there?
